Is it ethical for therapists to charge a premium?

Oh man, don’t even get me started. I could truly stand on this soapbox for the rest of my life, but here’s what I really believe: Therapists prioritizing their financial well-being is one of the most trauma-informed practices they can engage in.

It’s time that we, as therapists, crush the societal whispers that say, “Your money doesn’t matter, as long as you’re making an impact and helping people.” I call bullshit. When your mental space is preoccupied with scarcity and burnout, it’s impossible for you to be completely client-centered and serve your clients at your highest mental capacity. So, in order to help our therapy clients get the most out of their sessions (and intensives!) we need to be rested, fulfilled, and well-compensated as therapists.

Do I have to show up on social media or market a bunch in order to sell intensives once I have them?

Intensives do require some marketing. Yes. But you really get to choose the way you want to market consistently, whether it’s in person, on social media with a frequency that works for you, email, etc. The really important thing is that I teach you how to implement the marketing FOUNDATIONS like great website copy and SEO so that your people can find you directly from Google.
