Welcome, I'm Amanda
I'm excited you're here.
Welcome to my blog where you'll get all things business education and tips & tricks for your private practice business to reference during difficult times, stressful workdays, and moments when manifesting your true self.

You were told that to be a good therapist, you had to accept insurance – right? That it was the ethical thing to do. The right thing to do.
If you hop into a therapist Facebook group right now, I guarantee you’ll find at least one post telling you exactly that. Accepting insurance means you’re making therapy more accessible. It means you were following the path that everyone else seems to be on. It means you’re doing the right thing.
But no one told you the other side of it.
No one told you that insurance payouts would barely cover your bills. That you’d be drowning in paperwork, fighting just to get paid what you’re owed. That you’d spend hours chasing reimbursements – only to be told that, actually, that session wasn’t covered after all.
No one told you following the “rules” of private practice could still leave you without enough money to cover all your expenses.
So now, you do everything “right”—but you’re exhausted. You see too many clients, yet somehow, you’re still stressed over whether you can afford a date night this weekend. You work late nights, squeeze in admin tasks on weekends, and feel like no matter how much effort you put in, you’re always just getting by.
And the worst part is you’re starting to feel resentful 😖
Not towards your clients… but towards the fact you’re doing ALL the things and still not making ends meet.
Because the truth is, the insurance model was never designed to work for you.
It was designed to keep you exhausted and underpaid, to make you feel like you have to take on more and more just to keep up.
And maybe that’s why, every so often, you find yourself looking at therapists who have made a different choice. The ones who aren’t accepting insurance, who are running therapy intensives, who have figured out a way to work less and make more.
You catch yourself wondering, How did they do that??
And then, almost immediately, imposter syndrome kicks in.
That works for them, but I couldn’t do that.
I don’t have a specialty like EMDR so intensives won’t work for me.
I wouldn’t even know where to start.
But what if you’re wrong?
What if you don’t have to keep running your practice the way you were told?
What if there’s a way to create a business that actually gives you more freedom—more time, more energy, more income—while still serving the clients who need you most?
What if, instead of staying stuck in a model that’s burning you out, you could create one that actually works for you?
Because the reality is, you can. You just need to give yourself permission to do it, and I have exactly what you need to get started.
Check it out. 👇🏽
