Welcome, I'm Amanda
I'm excited you're here.
Welcome to my blog where you'll get all things business education and tips & tricks for your private practice business to reference during difficult times, stressful workdays, and moments when manifesting your true self.

You do the work: read the books, put in the hours, continue to grow as a clinician.
You’re deeply committed to healing – for yourself, your clients and your community.
They trust you. They come back week after week (or every few months for an intensive). They open up, even when it’s hard. You see them grow into a new version of themselves.
You hold space through grief, burnout, trauma, transitions.
You help them move towards clarity, regulation, and hope ❤️🩹
And yet… even with all the client success stories, all the training, and everything you’ve poured into becoming the therapist you are today–
Something still holds you back from raising your rates.
Maybe you psych yourself up on your intake calls. You rehearse the number. You believe the number.
But when it comes to saying it out loud, you freeze and blurt out your old rate before you realize what’s even happening… 🤦🏽♀️
A tangle of emotions sits in the pit of your stomach:
👉🏽 Guilt because you want therapy to be accessible to those who need it most
👉🏽 Fear that clients will leave and you’ll end up with even less money (which is the whole reason you wanted to raise your rates in the first place)
👉🏽 Imposter syndrome sliding in with thoughts like “I can’t charge that much” even though you put in thousands of hours of training and have the receipts to back it up
Honestly, I felt the same way.
I thought clients wouldn’t want to pay a premium price for therapy and putting those rates on my website would scare them away. I was convinced that it’d be really hard to find higher-paying clients.
But once I took the plunge and actually raised my prices, I realized a few things 👇🏽
There’s no reason to feel guilty about charging higher rates. In fact, making sure you have financial security opens up so much space for you to give back!
Maybe it looks like offering a few pro bono spots, or a generous sliding scale for folks who really need it.
I’ve seen so many of my coaching clients raise their rates, open up space in their schedules, and finally stop feeling burnt out. Raising their prices is actually what gave them the breathing room to give back more!
It’s not about charging more just to charge more…
It’s about building a practice that supports you – so you can show up for your clients in a deeper, more sustainable way.
And yes, there are people who are ready and willing to pay premium prices for a premium service (even when it’s $200/hr, or more than $350/hr), and they can’t wait to come back and keep working with you.
👀 And before your imposter syndrome gets a word in–
Remember all those hours you put in? The way you show up for your clients? The deep, intentional work you’ve done?
You’re not just a therapist. You’re a skilled and experienced clinician who keeps getting better.
And you’re exactly who they’re looking for.
More soon,
Amanda
