Welcome, I'm Amanda
I'm excited you're here.
Welcome to my blog where you'll get all things business education and tips & tricks for your private practice business to reference during difficult times, stressful workdays, and moments when manifesting your true self.
It’s often a heartfelt mission for us as therapists to provide accessible care to those in need.
However, there’s a persistent misconception that the only way to be accessible means offering services at low fees or taking insurances that underpay for your time.
I’ve seen firsthand how this belief not only impacts your financial well-being but also your ability to sustain a fulfilling and balanced practice (and personal life).
They believe that charging low fees is the only way to remain accessible. And while it comes from a place of empathy and service, it often creates a loop where therapists find themselves overworked and undervalued.
The truth is, undervaluing your services doesn’t make therapy more accessible; it perpetuates a cycle where you end up working more to make ends meet, inching closer and closer to burnout.
It’s a dilemma where your commitment to accessibility ends up compromising your own well-being (and therefore your ability to provide quality clinical care).
By charging what you’re worth, you’re not only respecting the value of your expertise and time, but you’re also ensuring that you can sustain a healthy and thriving practice.
It’s a tough shift to make, I know.
However, I’ve seen a way to navigate this challenge and even thrive in the process.
As you all know, I use therapy intensives in my practice as a way to work smarter, not harder. By offering this premium, high-fee service for clients, I’ve managed to increase my income significantly without compromising the quality or accessibility of my services.
This approach has not only helped me but numerous other therapists increase their income by 2-3 times without sacrificing their dedication to their clients’ well-being.
AND, because there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to anything in therapy, this means you can also having sliding fee therapy intensives OR prioritize offering higher fee therapy intensives to those who can afford them so that you can offer no/low-cost therapy to those who can’t otherwise afford to work with you.
Valuing your worth is not just about financial security; it’s about ensuring you can continue to be the compassionate, effective, and present therapist your clients need.
‘Til next time!
